Jacob and I finally got a little riding in this summer. Went to the BMW Rally in Boone NC. Didn't get a lot of pictures, we were a little, or a lot wet most of the time.

Took one ride up to Mt. Mitchell, highest point east of the Mississippi and South of Canada. Turns out the Blue Ridge was blocked agout 50 yds past the turn off to MT. Mitchell.

Saturday took a ride to Shady Valley TN and rode "The Snake", got a sticker that says "Dragon Shmagon, I rode the Snake" Leaving there went through what has to be one of the shortest tunnels I've ever seen.






Here's what last year was a small stream next to the tunnel.



After that rode to Damacus VA and followed "The Crooked Rode" music heritage trail, (or some such title.)

All in all great fun, and the first real riding since getting a hip replaced, so it was the first time I've ridden anywhere near that far without pain in awhile.

Beautiful! Mountain "rodes" in August, hard to top that. Ride safe.
