The passenger goes in the sidecar at all times. If you must ride 3 up,there are 1 1/2 and 2 passenger sidecars made specifically for that purpose.
If the wife does not want to ride in the sidecar they make a three wheeler for that. It is called a trike.
Roger
PS as in the past anyone attending Maggie Valley if you want to ride with us you will have to have a passenger or sufficient weight in your sidecar _________________ Nostalgia' s nice but, nothing beats Performance.

I Learned an important lesson over the weekend. WHEN YOUR WIFE IS IN THE SIDECAR NEVER,EVER REFER TO HER AS "BALLAST".

"O’Grady said the cause of the accident was likely the empty sidecar."
how sad, my condolances to the family.
I hope other sidecarist will take note of the risk of driving with an empty sidecar with a passenger on the back. It really is an invitation to a disaster _________________ CBR1100XX/EZS
