I put a light in the trunk of the sidecar last weekend.
Used a hood light switch from a jeep, it has a ball inside a tube that makes contact when opened.
Works pretty good, cost about two dollars for the light, the switch was free from a pile of stuff I had.

Added a mirror too the sidecar for the passenger to watch behind us as well. Something for them to look at. Looks pretty good too. _________________ Bill

What kind of mirror did you use and where did you get it? _________________ Larry Miller

I also put a trouble light inside the trunk of the sidecar. Mine does not have the button switch, but a flip switch that you will need to operate if you need the light, but it is easily accessible. It also has a 20' long cord on a spool with a lever rewind. Gives me the opportuntiy to have light any where I want it around the rig. Wired to one of the BMW plugs so it is always ready even with the switch off. The light is a standard 12v, but it has a nice clear plastic bubble over it to avoid breaking the light.

Who makes the light? Sounds like a good Idea. Maybe add a map light inside the sidecar that has a cord like you mentioned. _________________ Bill

Ralph,
Get an elephant! )
Here is the link to the site I got the light from. I wanted to mount it inside the car but could not find a good spot for it, so it ended up mounted on the front wall of the trunk. Easy installation.

There are probably less expensive ways to go, but this looked good and the quality is pretty good with easy installation. And there is a magnet on the back of the light to attach anywhere you want to see.

That Light looks exactly like a light that came under the hood of a truck I had.
I think it was a 98 chevy 1 ton pick up. I'll bet you can find these in the salvage yard cheep. _________________ Bill

Ralph,
Don't feel too bad at least you have a body on your sidecar.
