Hi Guys,
I almost called this post Daft Question ..
But I recon this is the right place to ask any question related to HPS .. so here I am
We all see Sidecar Rigs with a Rear View Mirror on the Sidecar, normally positioned so that the Rider can check how close the rig is to the : Wall, Roadside, Vehicle (or whatever) he or she may be close to.
I'd like your expert thoughts on that idea first please.
Next I'd also like your thoughts (even more so) on the idea of having a Rear View Mirror for the use of the Monkey (Sidecar Passenger)
Basically my Daft Question is : Are there any good, not so good or really bad points about fitting such a thing for the Passenger ?
My Rig and our Car are both Left Hookers, so we are always on the wrong side of the road over here on mainland Europe. No Problems
My Thanks in advance ..

PB - I have one fitted on the chair for Julie to look in if she wants to. She tells me she never bothers with it! It is the one off a Blackbird (with indicator built in) so I couldn't take it off if I wanted to. |

Cheers Chris,
I just checked out a photo of your Rig again and that Mirror / Indicator Unit looks 'Well Cool Dude' almost made for he job in fact
I guess it's a bit like being in a normal car for the passenger .. they don't really need to know .
Lets see what else pops up when they all climb out of bed over the Pond.

My EML has a sideview mirror built onto the back of the turn signal, however it's not adjustable and pretty much useless for both the driver and passenger. _________________ Mike Currin

Big Thanks for your response Mike ...
So .... It's not looking too good for the Mirror idea is it
Unless we have anyone who thinks otherwise ...

PB- I have always used the small round concave mirrors on my bikes. Extends side view, and has helped many times. On the right hand side, you can see the passenger in the sidecar.
Sidecar mirror sticks out about an inch beyond the fender, makes good reference point when in tight spots. Also when my son rides in the sidecar, we have a thing that one of us knows what is behind us.
But then again, some people who drive cars never use their mirrors!!

I like sidecar mirrors and my wife insists on having one..............so we have one!
I think a mirror can make a sidecar passenger feel less claustrophobic. In general it can give a the passenger more of a sense of what's going on around them. For example, Margie has always found it interesting just how close Jayboy can actually follow you! _________________ CBR1100XX/EZS

I can rarely get in front of him, so don't need one for that reason. _________________ Mike Currin
