June 12 – 14, 2009 - This years 3x3x?3 will have a different format. We will have no place to go. When we start out in the morning we will turn off on the first interesting road we see. We will go on this road until another interesting looking road appears. This will be repeated through out the whole weekend. We will some how return back to the Midway Motel in Viroqua, Wisconsin each evening.
Most of the roads we will be on will be either the lettered roads of SW Wisconsin or gravel roads. We will use numbered highways when it is the only road available. I’m guessing that we will travel 150 miles or less a day. I would not be surprised if our average moving speed was less then 40 miles per hour.

We tried this format last fall on Saturday of the ACTUrAL ride. It worked quite well. We managed to find food, fuel and restrooms in a timely manner when needed. Did we get lost and turned around several times? You bet. Did we see lots of great sights? You bet.

If this sound like something you might enjoy please join Nancy and myself on June 12, 13, and 14 in Viroqua, Wisconsin. We will be staying at the Midway Motel, phone 1-608-637-2929. This is a small mom and pop motel with some very unique rooms. It has a nice lawn where we can sit and talk in the evenings. If you want to stay there I would call real soon before they fill up. About a mile away is the Super 8 Motel, phone 1-608-637-3100. And if you are into camping the Sidie Hollow County Park is about three miles out of town. I have made no group arrangements so everybody is on their own. If you have any question you can e-mail me at: pape@prairieinet.net
