This is for Bill M.
Back in the early sixties, when I was in school down in St. Louis, one of the guys had a Goggomobil. He used to start it by pushing it along side
and then would squeeze in and pop the clutch. I think he told me you could buy these things at Sears or Montgomery Wards. How in the heck do you fit in yours?

Fred

Just like any other guy, I put it on one leg at a time.
Poke

I did not know you could buy them at Sears, that's even cooler.
Surprised

Since Bill hasn't answered for a couple of days:
Pictures are easy - go to Bill's website, either from the www link in one of his posts or from the Links tab at the top of the Home page, and look under Current Toys.

As for what it is , I don't know either - an early version of the Smart car, maybe Question Question

I am sorry Keith.
I missed this post for some reason.

It is a 1961 Glas Gogggomobil TS250
A two cycle two cylinder engine with 13 HP.
Top seed is about 40 MPH (60kph)
No Options.
4 seats, basically un usable back seat.

Doing a little research on the "What is it?" question, I found this place http://microcarmuseum.com/info.html.
It (the museum) is located in Madison, GA, about 175 miles directly south from Maggie Valley. Unfortunately, they are closed during June, so a daytrip from the HPS Gathering wouldn't work out.

In a similar vein, here's a picture of a BMW Isetta that we saw in Alaska last year. (I think it was in Wasilla, home of the newly famous governor of Alaska) It doesn't show up very well in this shot, but the car had a Minnesota license plate on it. Somebody must have driven it a long way. Cool Cool
