People frequently question the use of low tire pressure on HP rigs running car tires. Roger recently snapped these pictures of the tires and tire pressure recommendations on the new CanAm Spyder. Apparently they are of the same mind set. I'm sure based on science.

103 +/- 14 kPa or 15 +/- 2 psi front
193 +/- 14 kPa or 28 +/- 2 psi rear

If any of our British and European friends are reading this, It would be interesting to hear what tire pressures you run.

I run 20 to 22 psi. 138 to 151 kPa front, rear and sidecar

Those are bizarre tyres - they're car sizes, but specifically for motorcycles. Wonder how hard they are to find? TireRack doesn't have them. Better not destroy one while riding in the boonies!

More importantly - WHY did they need to do that? Car tyres are available in both of those sizes (in rubber stickier than that used by Kenda).

Very good questions - I was just looking for them earlier today, too. Wondering what Kenda had to say about them, but the Kenda website makes no mention of them. Maybe car sizes, but Tire Rack has only one tire in the 14 in. size (two if you want to count the one snow tire they have.) They do have several in the 15 in. size.

How hard to find? One would hope that your friendly local Can Am dealer carries them in stock. But riding in the boonies with a Can Am? Not unless it's one of the OLD Can Am's.

Somebody where I work has one of these Can Am backwards trikes; the first couple of days it was there, big crowds checking it out at lunchtime. Comments included:"Wonder if it rides like a snowmobile?", "Maybe it's something you could get your wife to ride, if she's scared of riding on two wheels." A passing female was asked if she would ever consider riding something like that, she replied "NO! if I were going to ride any sort of a bike, I'd get a Harley!"

But the most common question from bikers in the crowd was "WHY??"
