I see that some HPS rigs have a longer than stock wheelbase. It also seems like one manufacturer , Sauer?, says that the wheelbase of a new rig can be chosen when ordering.
We look at the F1 rigs and see the wheelbases are very long.
What is the advantage of a longer wheelbase? What chassis dynamics are altered or involved?

I have no Idea, I suppose if it were longer you could go wider and wider is better. I have the original wheelbase on my bike, 59". So I tried to keep the sidecar as close a possible. So it wouldn't be the same width as it is long. I don't know if there is any truth to the myth. I've heard it said about dragsters, that they make them longer and narrower so the car knew which direction was forward. I guess I kept that in the back of my head while I was building it.
