I'll be right over! Big Grin Big Grin

You're lucky to be so close to that kind of riding. Any chance you could post a Google map link to where that first picture was taken?

worked great, thanks. How long a ride is it for you to get there? Looking at Google maps in satellite view, it looks like there must be a lot of roads like that in Norway?

From my home its about 2000 km. We drive on Road from home to Munich 260 km, then on the train till Hamburg, then again on the road over Denmark to Sweden 650 km. Back to Austria we go with the ferry from Oslo to Denmark, with the Train from Hamburg. All in all we drive in 2 weeks about 5500 km in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
It was funny Big Grin
In Norway there are really a lot of such roads, and the most interesting is that there is no traffic on this roads, you can drive a lot of miles before you see another one on the road.

Strange, on my trip in Norway in 2003, we (2 friends and myself, all traveling on 2 wheel motorcycles) were all complaining that we could find NO such interesting roads. We actually bypassed the entire southern part of Norway, traveling directly from Oslo to Trondheim, then up along the coast on Highway 17. Where we SHOULD have found such fun roads going over the mountains, we found instead that they had drilled tunnels through the mountains - long, cold, dark, damp, slippery and straight. Sometimes we had to share the tunnel with reindeers:

Or they would put a ferry across the mouth of a fjord so you wouldn't have to drive around on the interesting roads.

I guess I'll have to go back and find the good roads next time. Big Grin

Yes, if you go on the Highways like E6, E16, E17 ... they Roads are not so interessting and with a lot of traffic.
If you go to Norway you need a real good Road-Map like 1:200000, then you will find the "good" ways.
I also find it with my Navi, a Tomtom Rider.
The Tunnels, they are really cool Shocked sometimes with a 360° round in it, and all this in a black hole without a light, dark, slippery ....... and to share with sheeps and reinddeers
