Hi There Guys and Girls,
Fist Day on the site .. and I've been asked to introduce myself.

The name is Trev .. but I'm generally know as Polar Bear (long story)

I'm 69 years old .. going on about 27 .. but not completely mad.
I'm a retired Ex Royal Navy and Pro Diver come long haul Trucker.
Had Bikes all my life, about 50, over more than 50 years, still learning!

Currently riding a 2005 Yamaha Fazer FZS 1000 Solo and I love it.
However .. friends, age and various 'mobility or agility' problems are telling me it's (once again) time for a third wheel 'stabiliser'.

I had chair outfits over 40 years back when the kids were small. Also rode a very nice BMW Grinnall Trike Special for almost four years, until quite recently.

Now looking for (your) help, info, advice, photos and whatever on Modern High Performance Sidecars. Maybe have it fitted to a fully converted Fazer 1000. So All your thoughts will be very welcome indeed.

Oh .. just a by the way .. I now hide out in Southern Spain.

Stay Safe Surprised) Trev (The Polar Bear)

Trev,

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry, I can't help with any advice on the Fazer, don't know of any FZ rigs over here.

Seems like there is more variety on your side of the pond. Until recently if you wanted an HPS in the states you either had to build it yourself or import one from Europe.

Good luck

Mike

( I used to live in the other Birmingham, Birmingham Alabama )

Hi Bill,
Sorry if I'm a little late with a reply .. this time zone thing is a real pain.

Thanks for the info and the link to the Hannigan web site .. that Kawasaki Rig looks very 'functional' as well as beautiful. Razz Mom I want one! Very Happy

Couple of things that I'm not sure on .. us Daft Old Brits have some funny ways of looking at most things.

Do Hannigan sell the 'Complete' rig ?
Do you guys buy the Solo Bike and give it to Hannigan to convert?
I found a price that looked like almost $18.000, what does that buy?
Any ideas of info on the cost of Shipping a complete rig to the UK?

I actually live in Spain these days .. so a Right Hand Sidecar is what I'll be looking for .. However a UK delivery might work better. (You should see the sad state of Pedro's Old Post Office Donkey) Laughing

Great to talk to you guys .. I'm a very Happy Bunny .. keep it coming Cool

Stay Safe Wink Trev (The Polar Bear)

Hannigan sells the complete rig or you can supply your own bike, I think he will sell just the kit too.
$18,000.00 is everything less the bike.
You should call them if your serious, I do not know all of the details.
No idea on the shipping.

“I'm 69 years old .. going on about 27 .. but not completely mad.”

Aren’t you too old for this stuff?? Shouldn’t you be looking at Urals??

“Currently riding a 2005 Yamaha Fazer FZS 1000 Solo and I love it.”

Isn’t that inappropriate for someone your age Question

“Had Bikes all my life, about 50, over more than 50 years, still learning!”
Oh, you must be old if you’re still learning. Only young people know everything Laughing

“Oh .. just a by the way .. I now hide out in Southern Spain.”
Were you asked to leave England for not acting your age?? Thinking
Welcome to the forum and more old people not acting there age!! That's so funny.
