Well foolish as it may seem and after many years of playing with sidecar related stuff after work and in the evenings we have made the step to create an official business out of it. We have been busy getting set up and have developed a couple of products that will 'go live' after the first of the year.
Still wil be mounting sidecar and building variosu component parts as usual though.
We are also, at this time , a rep for Motorvation Engineering.
Wanted to share this with you all and hope it isn't out of line here but we are kinda excited about it.
Many have asked about whether we will have a website or not. The
answer is yes. I really wish we could do it now but with all that is
going on it will not happen for a while. In order to show some pics
and so forth I have started a yahoo site at :
http://autos.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/FreedomSidecarsandTrailers/
When going there you will have to join the site like any other yahoo
site. Posting will be limited there. When there go to the photo
section at the left of the screen and you will see some categorized
pictures. Please rememebr that most items there are in the early
stages of developement and are not the completed product as far as
the Freedom trailers and Freedom sidecars go. More pictures will be
added as time permits so check in often.
Feel free to email me with any questions at cstanley@sunlink.net or
call at 570 765 8310 days or 570 837 5182 evenings. If you miss me
please leave a message and I will call you back.
Thanks for your support. We are all in this together and I hope we
can be of service to many here.
Claude

Bill,
I would like to see the titanium center hub front end , the computerized weight transfer compensation and traction control system and the twin engined turbo charged Hyabusa kit bikes go live but they probably won't anytime soon.
Seriously we are working hard to get the production sidecar (Freedom Cruiser) off the ground (no pun intended) and are close. The small details are a challenge. We are working on a cast aluminum grille and a windshield mounting system that we think will be unique. I did take an unfinihsed prototype down to the Hack'd Reunion mounted to a R100R. The chassis worked well ( even with no swaybar)but when I got home I redesigned the whole thing to simplify construction. I think the new one will work just as well or better but have not had it out to test yet. It will have an adjustable torsion bar suspension ( so did the first one)and is made from 1 3/4" x .120 DOM tubing.
The trailer is probably closer in reality to going into production.
On both of these we need to develope options etc. and establish a firm pricing structure.
In the mean time we are busy with some interesting projects in the shop. Thye range from a 1923 Kali sidecar reproduction to a kneeler sport bike deal with all the 'normal' rigging and mounting projects in between. Would love to get the kneeler down to Maggie Valley '07 but we'll see how things go.
Thanks for the encouragement. I don't know if congratulations or sympathy cards woudl be more appropriate though

Quote: | the computerized weight transfer compensation |
I thought that would be great for when I don't have a passenger, which is most of the time, like today.
Maybe a weight mounted on lead screws behind the seat with either a switch on the bars to move it side to side or could mount switches on the front end to move it automaticlly dependent on how far the front end was turned and road speed. _________________ Mike Currin

As a kid we only had a black and white television. When Bonanza came out in color I really wanted a color T.V. Then at the fair one year I sacrificed riding in the roller coaster and eating a couple of hot dogs to buy a genuine 'Color T.V. conversion kit'. Took it home and unwrapped it only to find out that it was a piece of plastic that you stuck on the screen that had many colors in it.
So, what does that have to do with anything here? Nothing,,,but your post ,Mike, brought it to mind for some reason. _________________ Claude Stanley
