Got it home.
I really like this bike.
First pieces in a long process.
Bent tubing that goes somewhere.

Do you suppose there will be any other new rigs at MV in 2007? |

I haven't noticed any other new bike owners trying to sell the old rig before the new one is built. At least not yet. Or on this forum. Keeping the options open, making sure there is something to ride to MV?

While you boys are playing you might think about modifying the exhaust to come out the left side. Me thinks that it should be a lot easer while you have it apart. But what the hell do I know I just work at the car wash. |

Looks nice.. I've thought about doing that too, converting my high mount Hindle to a LHS mount can. It'd free up room for an external gas tank without fear of overheat in that region. I haven't found a pipe bender local who hasn't looked at me blankly when i presented the idea though. _________________ Homebrew '99 Suzuki Bandit 1200 / '88 Hannigan Comet

Guess you've never seen Bill M's hill billy teeth
Also,
Went by the local hondakawasakiyamahasuzuki shop at lunch today, strictly to show off the rig. They were fairly impressed.
Told them that the antes going up, that there's a couple ZX-14 in the works, not to mention a busa with nitrous. The direct quote was, "You guys ain't right" This from a hondakawasakiyamahasuzuki parts guy that rides to work on either a Norton or Triumph Thruxton most every day.

At least you guys have a few HPS/MPS rigs regionally. In my area, (population about 20 kabillion all told) there are mebbie 2-3 conventional rigs seen about on a semi-occasional basis, total. Even my relatively mild MPS setup, is a total rarity in this area (Toronto area).
I go into a shop, any shop, and the delay factor is huge. The looks i get... whoooey... I sometimes start questioning my own sanity if i am delayed long enough by questions and comments. I really wish there were more "unconventional rigs" in my region, so i wouldn't be the only one viewed as being a few fries short of a happy meal...
I've seen the ZX-14 on the local showroom, to my uncalibrated eyeball, it looks slightly larger than the CBR-XX .. should make for a good stable, high HP platform. _________________ Homebrew '99 Suzuki Bandit 1200 / '88 Hannigan Comet

I'll bet there are a lot of smiles and some big grins around Wilmington, MA these days with two of the biggest, fastest Ninja ever made living in the neighborhood, that Kawasaki boasts will make 115 lb-ft of torque and 190 base horsepower.
It will be exciting to see them transformed into a pair of beautiful HP rigs by those Wilmington CHS wizards. The finished product should be something to see at MV next June! I can hear those young fellers now, "See you guys back at the motel."
Me, I'm having to settle for a BMW K1200GT which only produces 152 horsepower but does have some nice features for a "mature" rider to help cheer him up like an adjustable electric windshield, heated seat, heated hand grips, and cruise control. Hope I can forget about those 190 H.P. or I'll be an unhappy camper when I get back to the motel. |

That's OK, Doc. I'll wait for you back at the motel.
It's looking like Maggie Valley 2007 is going to be a real fun time! |
