My latest list as of 1/27/2014. Bruce.

All Year Long – Ride for Kids - Events are held around the country during virtually every month, and folks should visit the web site at http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/ , or call 800-253-6530, for more information. Sidecars are always needed.

3rd Sunday of every month, the Illinois Chapter of the USCA will hold an informal get-together. All sidecarists and solo motorcyclists interested in sidecars are welcome. March 14 – 15, 2014 – 8th Annual Y’ll Come Sidecar Rally - Silver River State Park which is just outside of Ocala, FL. You will need to make your own reservations with the park, and the sooner the better as there is a lot to do near by this time of the year and the park fills up early. This is open to USCA members or non-members, hack or solo bikes, we don’t care. The state park website is http://www.floridastateparks.org/silverriver/default.cfm . For more information, contact Richard McClure 610 NW 9th Circle, Williston, FL 32696. rmm4479@msn.com , 727-946-5262.

April 24 – 27, 2014 – Sidecars In The Smokies - The 3rd Annual North Carolina’s Sidecars in the Smokeys Rally. May 2 – 4, 2014 – The East Texas Sidecar Muster at Holly Park Marina on the Texas side of Toledo Bend is back by popular demand. Also back by even greater demand are the Friday Evening Tamales by Art & Rosa -- IF someone can bring a propane bottle and fish/turkey burner/fryer.

Please make your lodging/RV/camping reservations directly with Holly Park Marina:
http://www.hollyparkmarina.com/ Day Phone: 409-625-4424 Email: info@hollyparkmarina.com

Plan on a casual gathering, but we will plan a Saturday group ride -- most likely for lunch at the Pinto Pony in San Augustine. Hopefully the Sale on the Trail Flea Market along Hwy 21 will be the same weekend, so we can stop in Milam -- I need some more blue cornmeal.
There is no official registration, but please let me know if you are coming so we can get a head count for Tamales and Lunch. Check here for more info and occasional updates: http://www.sidecar.com/mbbs22/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=11958&posts=1#M75819
For more information contact Lee Coltharp, South Central Director United Sidecar Association 318-393-7454 rleeryder@bellsouth.net .

May 23 – 25, 2014 – Alaska Sidecar Gathering. Talkeetna, Alaska (campground at the end of town)
Who's invited - Intended as a gathering for current, past, and potentially new USCA Alaska members. BUT everybody is invited. No events are planned. It's just a time to gather and talk about sidecars while enjoying the Alaska scenery. Any rides and activities will be impromptu and discussed on-site. Contact – email Dan LaPan at subterranea@juno.com .

May 23 – 25, 2014 - Yakima Memorial Weekend UNRally, will be held at the KOA at 32 S. Thorp Highway, Ellensburg, WA 98926, 800-562-7616, www.koa.com/campground/ellensburg . Arrangements have been made with the campground to hold tent sites for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights at the UNRally rate of $7/night/adult. To get this rate and reserve a tent site (up to 6 adults/site), email or call Jack Fassel (a.k.a. WagonMaster) by March 15th, 2014. therealsidejack@gmail.com , 503-351-6872 with how many and which nights. No money will be collected in advance, it’s an honor thing and camping funds will be collected that weekend by the “WagonMaster” instead of the KOA office. Coming early? Staying late? Bringing an RV? Contact the KOA directly to reserve at their normal rates. Pets? They’re welcome, but see the KOA website. For sure there will be motorcycle/sidecar games on Saturday. For sure the weather will be perfect (if you’re a duck).

May 30 – June 1, 2014 - SOUR 2014. This year's SOUR Rally will be held at Lake Selmac Resort in Selma, OR. Friday we will be taking a local ride and meeting up at a local eatery for dinner. Saturday morning we will be leading a ride up to the Oregon Caves. From there, riders can opt to take a tour of the Oregon Caves. Here is a link to the Oregon Caves website for more info on the Caves: http://oregoncaves.com/ .

Those that do not want to take the tour can join the group heading back towards camp, taking a back road most of the way. Saturday night we'll be doing a potluck BBQ at Lake Selmac. This will be a great time to get together and tell stories, share tips and get to know each other better.

Sunday morning, we'll be doing our Ural-Lympics! This will consist of 3 events to allow riders and passengers to show off their skills! Prizes will be provided for the winners. Details on the Ural-Lympics will be handed out during the rally.

We'll be providing maps for those that want to do their own rides. There will be plenty of opportunities to put the Urals to the test! Everyone that shows up will get an Official SOUR 2014 sticker.

We'll also be selling shirts thru www.booster.com if we have enough interest. Shirts will go for $20 each and will have the same design as the sticker.

The easiest way to make a reservation for your tent or RV site is to go thru Reserve America. Here is a link: http://www.reserveamerica.com/camping/Lake_Selmac/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=OR&parkId=404075&topTabIndex=Search . We're trying to get all the sites booked in the Mallard Loop. Join us!

June 5 – 7, 2014 - The Texas Ural Riders Division (the "TURD's) of the Soviet Steeds have once again invited us to join them for the Spring TURD -- the New Mexico Invasion of Timberon, New Mexico, scheduled for Thurs - Sat, but some folks are planning on extra days before/after.

Timberon, Elevation ±7100 feet, is 30 miles south of Cloudcroft at the end of the paved road at the Southern end of the Sacramento Mountains in the Lincoln National Forest. If you prefer paved road travel, you have to travel back up to Cloudcroft to descend the mountains to the East, West or North. However, if you prefer exploring unpaved county/forest roads, and maybe even some 2-track depending on road conditions, opportunities abound in the area -- with great scenery.

But Beware: Timberon is a off the beaten path:
There is no cell phone service, nor antennae TV reception.
There is one small convenience store with regular gas + diesel and a few supplies (not a full grocery store).
Aurora has a small cafe on-site and may be available for breakfast Tues/Wed/Thurs - we may have to help cook/clean.
There is a small deli in town for sandwiches for lunch thru late afternoon.
There is a small sports bar/cafe open lunch-dinner with burgers/beer, etc.
Temperatures in early June average ±75 Stars daytime highs to ±50* overnight lows -- subject to change, of course. Due to persistent drought conditions throughout the region, open campfires are not permitted -- unless Timberon has a very wet winter.

Rally central is the Riverside Condo's run by fellow sidecarists George & Aurora:http://www.timberon.info/mountain/lodging/condos/ with special pricing for TURD's (and friends of TURD's) staying 3+nights, and the Circle Cross RV Park 1/4 mile up the road: http://www.timberon.info/mountain/rv-parks/circle-cross-rv-park/ There are other lodging options in the area, varying from efficiency apartments to grand lodges. Please contact Aurora at 318-987-2372or gcorder@dellcity.com for camping/RV/lodging info & reservations.
There is no rally fee or registration, but please advise Lee at rleeryder@bellsouth.net or 318-393-7454 if you plan to attend so proper arrangements can be made for group rides/meals. Consult the USCAwww.sidecar.com Events Forum of updates.

June 6 – 8, 2014 – 11th Annual Skunks in ’Da Woods Sidecar Rally at Pioneer Village Museum, Cameron Wisconsin. All are welcome. For more information contact Kevin Hahn 715-458-0894 or kevin@scramblercycle.com or http://www.skunktails.com/ .

June 6 – 8, 2014 – 2014 POW WOW. Hosted by the Illinois Chapter of the USCA, in conjunction with the BMW Air Heads. Located in Pontiac, IL at the 4H Campground. Clean Showers, community campfire, camping fee: $12 per tent, per night. Don’t have the whole weekend free? Come on out and spend Saturday with us! Lots of shade, big pavilion and great people. For more info, contact Terry Strassenburg 815-427-6959.

June 6 - 8, 2014 - 3x3x3 Gathering to be held in Fennimore, Wisconsin at the Napp's Motel 608-822-3226. http://www.nappsmotel.info/Home_Page.php . There is several other motel in the area if the Napp's Motel does not fit you style and I do think that there is also camping in the area.

I have no idea of any routes yet but there is a good chance of possibly may be hitting four states during the ride this year. Yes we don't have any mountains or desert to ride in but we do have the Great River Road. Depending on the make up of the group will determine what type of roads I will be taking. With Urals most of us don't care if it is hard surfaced or even on the ADV side of things. All types can be found in the area. http://www.grantcounty.org/pdf/grant-co ... lanner.pdf . And again Breitbach's Country Dinning has a good chance of being one of our stops. http://www.breitbachscountrydining.com/ .

If anybody has any questions about the ride contact Lee or Nancy Pape at: sidecarring@gmail.com .

June 14 - 15, 2014 – 23 Annual Black Dog AMA National Dualsport & Adventure Ride, Hood River, OR. Staged around Mt. Hood, Oregon. We love sidecars! More information and sign up forms can be found at: http://www.blackdogdualsport.com/ , or contact TawmN@blackdogdualsport.com .

Street Sidecar club members are considered “affiliates” and gate and infield (pits) fees are as stated above for “Affiliates”. There are RV dump facilities available. Bathrooms and showers are close by. There are no restrictions on children attending. Dogs have to be kept on a leash at all times and you have to pick up after them.

There is a café in the infield that has sandwiches, burgers, dogs, ice, etc. There are several good places to eat nearby. More accommodations are available in Concord, about 20 minutes away, see www.nhms.com for a listing.

A parade lap for spectators with sidecars is scheduled for Saturday at lunch time. A fee of $15 per person will be charged, and you must be 18 years of age or older to participate in this activity.

In the past, some have camped or RV’ed at the race track and some have stayed at the Econo Lodge Motel www.econolodge.com/hotel-winchester-virginia-VA226?promo=gglocal and others in Winchester, Virginia and the surrounding towns.

Members attending have been known to arrive Friday afternoon and leave Monday morning. This is not an organized official rally of any sort, it is just an opportunity to have a good time hanging out with a bunch of sidecar people and support the sidecar racers and what they do. If you have never seen sidecar racing, you’re in for a real treat. If the conditions are favorable, the street legal sidecars have been given the opportunity to do a parade lap on the track as well.

Some sidecarists even come earlier and stay later to take in the attractions in the area. For example visiting the historic areas of Charles Town, WV https://www.google.com/search?q=Charlestown,+WV&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=VAX5UsvHH4bH0QGzn4CgCQ&ved=0CAoQ_AUoAg&biw=1527&bih=876 , Harpers Ferry, WV https://www.google.com/search?q=Harpers+Ferry,+WV&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=5AP5Uq7iOuTq0wGoloGwAQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg&biw=1527&bih=876 , Front Royal, VA http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g57755-Activities-Front_Royal_Virginia.html , etc.

Please review my previous posts of sidecar events and sidecar training programs that I was made aware of for 2014. I have contacted by snail mail and email, all the hosts of those events for information on events for 2015.

If you know of an event that is being held in 2015 that was not on any of my 2014 list, please have the host for that event submit a detailed description of the event to me, so I can include it on my 2015 Sidecar Event & Training List. My contact information is listed in my user profile.

Thank you,

Bruce
