I'm just the FNG so don't want to seem pushy, but I'm curious about any gatherings you folks might be planning (here in the colony's)
Plus I'm a working stiff and I have to pick time off for next year

Thanks in advance

Jeff

Our big one is always Maggie Valley in June. Great roads to ride, close to the Blue Ridge, Dragoon, Cherokee, etc.

Does anyone have dates yet? I know there was some talk of moving it earlier in the year, but if to early it would interfere with our kids school.

Mike

The HP Sidecar gathering will take place in Maggie Valley NC from June 22/23 thru June 26th. As far as I'm concerned, our home base will be the Apple Cover INN as usual. Be sure to contact Derrick and Amy to make your reservations. http://www.applecoverinn.com/

Like always, this is an unstructured informal gathering of people who have or are interested in high performance street sidecars. There are no rally fees, pins, door prizes, games or meals provided. People are free to come and go as they please. Besides renewing old friendships and making new ones, the main objective is to ride and of course BS about it afterward. Laughing

We sometimes ride in one or two groups or by oneself depending on the number of people that show up and what people want to do. We could have one group that wants to ride briskly only stopping for gas and lunch. If you want to ride at a more leisurely pace or need more frequent stops, it would be best to ride with that group. Weather permitting it's good to get started by 9am or sooner. There are numerous restaurants and gas stations nearby so people have time to get breakfast and gas before we start the ride.

Sidecar events I was made aware of as of 2011-01-31. Bruce.

All Year Long – Ride for Kids - Events are held around the country during virtually every month, and folks should visit the web site at http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/ , or call 800-253-6530, for more information. Sidecars are always needed.

January 27 – February 2, 2011 – New England Elephanten Rally. I am hosting a WINTER 2011 RALLY at my home at 275 Mechanic Street, Foxboro, Mass. 02035. I am across the street from Exit # 8 Rt I-95 Southbound. Food and firewood provided and a snow blower will be available BYOB and donations are appreciated but NOT required. The dates are to allow for unpredictable travel conditions with the most riders. This is a Winter Rally / camp out inspired by the German Elefanten that you can google if you are not familiar with this non structured congregation. Last year we had a grand total of TWO camping, and one intrepid V-11 on my three acres at 13-14 degrees. About a dozen New England Moto Guzzi members showed up for the day (Saturday). This rally is meant to be a great time and meet new friends while defying winter. If you have never camped out in winter then this is your chance to learn to be 'one' with the elements.

Bring your tent, warmest clothes, two or three wheels and a willingness to push your comfort zone. There is no room for RV's or truck campers. You can come in four wheels but parking is limited, bikes have the priority, but there is a shopping mall across RT I 95 in Sharon for additional parking of four wheelers. My family will shuttle you back and forth as needed.

Any questions or concerns contact Larry Davis bikermedic5807@yahoo.com Phone with voice mail 508 505-5350. Thanks and hope you can make it but let your good common sense be your guide as to your abilities and travel conditions within this time period.

February 18 – 21, 2011 - 38th Annual Brass Monkey Sidecar Rally, the oldest permanent floating sidecar rally on this continent. To be held at the La Casa Del Rancho Restaurant & RV Park, 70 North Central Blvd., Quartzsite, Arizona, 85346. Phone 928-927-6610. Two blocks north of the intersection of West Main Street (HWY 95) and North Central in downtown Quartzsite. For more info, contact Dave Tenpenny 520-762-8195, Jack Zollars 661-949-0805, Mike Smith 661-723-3674 or 661-965-2903 or m.smith5301@verizon.net .

March 18 – 20, 2011 – “Y’ll come” Sidecar Rally – Silver River State Park that is just outside of Ocala, FL. You will need to make your own reservations. June 10 – 12, 2011 – 3x3x3 Gathering - This is a gathering of Ural owners for the most part, although other makes are welcome to join us. Please keep in mind that we have been known to do a lot of riding on gravel/dirt roads.

Nancy and I will be using the Super 8 in Dyersville as our base of operations. There are other motels and campgrounds near by if the Super 8 does not work for you. New Wine Park is just 7 miles from the Super 8 and has a very nice campground.

On Friday we will start our wandering around 10 AM. We will head towards the Mississippi River in order to try and get our three states in for the weekend. During the ride we will stop and have lunch and arrive back in Dyersville in time for our evening meal.

Saturday is going to be a full day this year. Roll out from the parking lot will be at 8 AM. Our first stop will be for breakfast. After breakfast we will be heading to the small town of Spillville, IA. In Spillville we will be stopping at the Billy Brothers Clock Museum. Spillville is about 90 miles from Dyersville. After we spend sometime in the museum we will then head for lunch, then back to Dyersville. On the way back into Dyersville we will swing past the Field of Dream is anybody is interested. Both evenings we will have tire kicking, story telling, time in the parking lot.

Sunday morning will start out with breakfast right next door to the motel. After breakfast those that need to head home can do so with a full belly. For those of us that are still hanging around we will just start wondering around the country side. Sunday's are never planned out just kind of laid back.
