Not me. We're building an addition on our house so between that and work there's not much free time. WHAAAAA

I heard today that the blue ZX14 has been out and about leaving long black telltale marks on the rods around his neighborhood Laughing

Anybody else out there riding Question Question Question Question

I just logged on to post this as a new topic - First Ride of the Season, but Bill must have been reading my mind and had to go and ask the question before I got here Big Grin

I know that those of you who live in warmer climates might not understand the significance of this, but those of us who live in cooler places and put the rig away (mostly) for the winter look forward to the first "real" ride of spring. (a "real" ride means something more than a 20-30 minute ride just doing local stuff)

Most of the bad weather that has hit the east coast (of the US) in recent weeks - several snow storms a few weeks ago, torrential rain and wind this past weekend - has completely missed my part of upstate New York, so I have only been waiting for the weather to warm up enough to take a REAL ride (4 1/2 hours, almost 200 miles). Well, today was the day to retrace the ride I took back in the beginning of November. (see my Nov 2 post in the "What's going on with you" thread)

The pond off of Tracy Road is still frozen:

Lake George is mostly open, but you can see some ice in the distance:

It looks like I did the loop in the opposite direction from November's ride.

In the last few weeks I've gotten in a few rides to work, that's about it so far.

I did get snowed on one morning

Wife's away this week, so it's given me time to MOT the outfit and that's about it.
The weather as changed here there's more sun than clouds, which I'm hoping will last a few more weeks.

I've plans of meeting Polar Bear in early April for a ride to the Ace Cafe London for a sidecar day there.
Hope to get some photo's and upload onto here.

Managed to meet up with Polar Bear at the motorway services and we went down to London.
The weather was passable more sun than rain, making it quite hot inside our waterproofs, ha-ha !
Finally arriving a the Transport cafe "Ace Cafe" a very old place which shut down some twenty years ago and re opened a few years back.
All modern looking, alas so was the prices and the food appeared to be too clean to eat.
The London sidecar club who held the "Sidecar Day" said they usually have around 100 rigs there, they changed the date this year and along with ourselves there couldn't have been more than 30.
Guess they'll go back to the old date.

Photo's to follow.

Sorry at the moment I've changed computers and not all the functions are installed at the moment.
One being downloading pictures off my camera, so until I can get that up and running I'm down to just writing about visits.
I can not get my printer installed either, which is a all in one scanner, fax machine & printer.
Modern PC's huh !

Monday will be the start of our tour of Scotland.
Today as been like the tropics weather wise so hope it lasts the two weeks holidays.
You just knew after spending a fortune in waterproofs this winter it would be the hottest summer in years Laughing

Have fun, Keith. I visited Scotland 14 years ago with the wife on a group bus tour, it was enough to show what a beautiful place it is, but I would really love to visit it again and travel on my own on two or three wheels.

I've suggested an England/Scotland trip to my European (German) riding buddy, but he seems very reluctant to cross the Channel and have to ride on the "wrong" side of the road. Maybe one of these years...

Totally not used to day after day of sunshine in Scotland.
Returned Friday having put about 800 miles on the clock, not much time for pictures and what I have I still can not download, grrr Evil or Very Mad

Managed to get along the coast rode north and south of Edinburgh, when it's sunny there great roads and the scenes fantastic.
After two weeks away from mobile phones, TV's & computers, how noisy this modern world is. Shocked

Thanks for the pictures, Keith. I recognized your Merlin and the Spanish Dancer; most of the rest, even if I can't say exactly what they are, I've seen the likes of them before.
Except, WHAT is this one!!?? Appears to be some sort of a trike with the engine sticking out of the side? I've never seen anything like this before. Is that some sort of a steering link up over the engine running to the front fork? Any more pictures of it?
