Following up on Roger's suggestion, I have checked out Tracy Road in the Adirondacks (several times now). This is what it looked like earlier this month:
well, to be completely accurate, that's what the view FROM the road looked like
And, just like you, Bill, I had to pull a nail out of my Bandito's rear tire and have it patched, also earlier this month. Not the same day as the Tracy Rd ride.
Good luck with the construction job. _________________ David D

You two are lucky, just had to pull nails out of your rear tires, a couple months ago I had to pull one out of two of my fingers. (that or go to the hospital with a sheet of 3/4 inch plywood dangling off my left hand.) _________________ Mike Currin

Sounds like the engineer DID shoot himself with a nailgun while trying to build something. _________________ David D

no hospital no wreck dam LUCKY 2weeks ago heading into New Orleans my front shock/spring detached itself at the top mount and lucky for me it wedged itself between the body and frame alowing me to steer sort of. Motorist Assist showed up 30seconds later, used their floor jack( if I had more room I would carry one with me) and we were able to put humpty together again. total time at the roadside 35min.
I don't like to talk about luck but sometimes |

Or as they say on the K1100 forum "pennies to maintain"
No real motorcycle / sidecar projects planned for this winter, just some minor repairs and maintenance.
The big project will be the propane fireplace insert that's been sitting in the barn, along with about a thousand baord feet of rough cut cherry, that's all suppossed to end up in the living room as a fireplace / mantle/ entertainment center.
Oh and just to brag a little, we have to start planning for Cody's Eagle Scout award ceremony. _________________ Mike Currin

I've just finished getting some new bushes for the leading link suspension, which as been quite an episode.
Haven't been able to replace the rubber one but got somebody to make some out of brass.
Seems we have only one importer of the rubber type and they've shut shop and gone to Spain for the winter, nice.
There's a autojumble in a couple of Saturdays so I'll be buying some bits for the Bonnie then I can work on it over winter.

yeah, a floor jack can be a bit bulky, but I've got plenty of room in my Bandito trunk to carry one of these (a leftover from a Honda car I owned a couple of decades ago), and it certainly does the job of lifting up any of the wheels on the rig.
And my winter project will be trying to mount a yellow LED turn signal (a big mother truck style one) on the back of that same Bandito and have it look at least halfway decent. _________________ David D

Keith, that's not a term I ever heard over on this side of the pond - what IS an autojumble? _________________ David D
