OK, it's a trike, not a sidecar - but it could easily have been a Hayabusa-based sidecar:

Food for thought sort of saying, this doesn't need much changing to turn it into a beautiful sidecar.

Use a Ducati in racing colours.

American Nicky Haydon & Australian Casey Stoner on the 2009 Moto GP Ducati.

Some sort of racing sponsor, I'm guessing, but what is it Question

Thanks for the info, Keith and Paul.

Obviously, I don't follow racing very much or I would have seen Alice before.

My Suzuki is a Hannigan, but not red and not a Ferrari, and my last Ducati was red, but was more of a commuter and tourer than a race bike.

at Craters of the Moon in Idaho:

and at both ends of US Route 20:

A Cagiva, right? I had a friend with that exact same bike.

Did you actually ride 20 end to end? I've done 50 from SF to Colorado but those old highways get downright dangerous in middle America.

Well, the engine said Ducati and the gas tank said Cagiva.

I guess you're going to have to go back out to Colorado, pick it up again and finish it to Ocean City Maryland. Or maybe not, if you possess any sanity. Big Grin Big Grin
Remember what Ralph has to say about those of us who undertake these long trips:

Yes, the photos of the bike at each end of the road don't lie. They were scanned from films from before the days of Photoshop.

Well... Embarassed
...almost all of it.

In the name of full disclosure (in case I decide to run for public office someday):
I missed a little bit of it when I took a detour to ride over the McKenzie Pass in Oregon. Gee, I guess that means I'll have to go back to Oregon and ride that few miles of it, just so I can say that I finished the job. Big Grin Big Grin
And the New York to Boston leg of the ride was actually completed a couple of months after the trip west (note absence of saddlebags).

You mean, it was last paved when Lincoln was the President? Why yes, you might be right!

I was set to reply "No", but, as noted above, Wikipedia knows all:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Route_of_the_Lincoln_Highway
It looks like a very short portion of Rt 20 in Indiana was part of the Lincoln Highway.
