Welcome Polar Bear,
Forum a bit quiet just now, everybody trying to plough their sidecars through the snow, or attending their end of year rallies.
I'm sure it'll hot up once they all get back.
So what sidecar do you ride, or are you still in the thinking of a unit to put on the side ?
Anyway Welcome from me.

Hi Keith,
Thanks for the nice Welcome .. it's great to be here
Basically I guess my story might be very similar to many others in here.
I am a rather old biker and older means wiser (well slightly in my case)
None of us get to be this old by being stupid ... or do we ?
My age and physical condition (I've got a few metal joints, bald head, white beard, false teeth, hearing aid, glass's etc) are all telling me it's time to get some serious support .. a third wheel seems like a good idea!
My wife Annie just might agree to ride with me again .. if she stopped worrying about me 'falling over' and at the moment I have to pay for ALL the fuel
I had several 'Sidecars' way back over 40 years ago when my kids were small and a very Special BMW R1200C Trike for a few years more recently, so I know a little bit about the 'fun factor' of a big kids tricycle
Living in Spain (like so many of us 'thinking' Brits now do) I guess a Right Handed sidecar is what I need, although the locals all seem to drive in the centre of the mountain pass roads anyway!
My current bike is a solo 2005 Yamaha FZS 1000 still British registered.
(I think these models are called F1s in the USA .. and maybe elsewhere in the World too? I love it.
I would like a small modern 'chair' fitted to my bike, or another bike just like it. So far I have discovered lots of photos and a few web sites, but no real direct contact or information on costs and delivery times, etc.
The French and Swiss have some really 'cool' looking toys in their box .. but as I struggle with Plain English 'Doing Foreign' is not in my book!
One thing for sure .... I've got this bit between my gums and I'm going for it .. bugger the money and all this current global financial situation ... I'll only be this young just this once!
Hows that for an invitation .. All and any advice, help, info, warnings, etc etc, will really be very well received at this end .. Cheers guys

Polar Try this link see if there's anything of interest to you.
I know we have several European sidcarists on this site, who at least type English so maybe they could help you translate.
Hope this helps

Hi Keith,
That's one good humdinger of a Contact List mate .. should be a fair few that will grab my attention in there ... Thank You Very Much
Your Profile puts you just up a bit up the map me .. in Yorkshire UK.
Who translates into English for you Yes I know .. that's a bit close coming from a Brummy
Being in the UK makes you a very close contact indeed as me as us Ex- Brits fly
Can you send me the Details of Your Outfit and Ideally a few Photos too.
I really am genuinely interested in All Things & Everybody at this stage.
If you have a few moments I've time .. just a general chat would be nice.
Hope to read and see more from you as I go ... Cheers again

Trev
I ride a Merlin built in Durham.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/merlinowners/page3/
Problem is their not a big sidecar producing company, more a build to order.
Which means everyone can be custum made one off's, your problem is they don't do righthand sidecars.

Hi Guys,
Sorry I've been a little bit quiet Zen, it makes a change ... apparently
Yes .. I've been out shopping .. however .. it's still only 'window shopping'
.. as we call it over on this side of the puddle.
I have done almost six weeks of solid research into the modern world of Sidecars and I've learned a whole load of stuff. Things have changed in the passed 40 years or so, they have daft laws and red tape regulations these days .
Big Thanks to all those guys who have chipped in with help, info and advice in here .. and over on the UK FED group site. I've often almost been reading the answers .. before I've posted my daft questions.
I'm almost there now and I expect to be 'doing the deal' bit any day now. I've decided to go for a new Honda CB1300S .. in their Red & White livery. I just need to finalise a few small points and decide on what sidecar to have fitted (A or B) Then have it all painted up to match the bike.
Looks like 'Rainbow Annie' (Mrs Polar Bear) will be getting another new helmet for Christmas .. more money
I'll be back as soon as I can with a Job Progress Report, OK
