If I was to be forced to choose, it'd probably be the Concours, it just looks like it'd be better for distance or commuting,
however I still like the DJ Sport. _________________ Mike Currin

Why can I not have both
One for short distances and one for long journeys

2 reasons, Keith:
1 - this poll only lets you vote for one
2 - well, I guess it's between you and Anne, but what I keep hearing from my wife is, "You've got enough bikes already" , "Where are you going to park it? the garage is already full." , "You can only ride one at a time, you know" , and a few more along those lines.
(I've had to fall back to the position of "Well, all these extras are for my friends to ride when they come to visit.") _________________ David D

Dar,
Is that an invite
Then I'd go for the tourer Concours, unless you only intend showing us around locally, then it would be the ZX
Anne likes the Blue one as she puts it, whereas I'm for the concours, so thats one vote apiece.
See how diplomatic us English are

I've only sat on both - never ridden them - but the Concours ape-hanger bars are waaaaay too high for me. Ditto the windscreen (the ZX14 windscreen matches the sidecar one nicely). And the Concours saddlebags/rack aren't that useful with a huge giant saddlebag bolted to the side of the motorcycle.
The Concours fairing is nicer looking, though.
The ZX14 has a chain, the Concours a shaft - so you can regear the ZX as you wish - so the ZX is faster. So clearly the ZX14! |

Concours C-14
It's just getting too hard to lean so far over and putting so much weight on my hands. _________________ My wife said she is going to leave me if I buy another motorcycle. I'm sure going to miss her helping me load the trailer.

When I was replying to Sidecarkeith, I neglected to express my own preference, which would be the Concours, for the already stated reasons: docmike wrote: | ... the Concours, it just looks like it'd be better for distance or commuting... |
bruce_in_pa18015 wrote: | It's just getting too hard to lean so far over and putting so much weight on my hands. |
and also for some of the reasons used to support the ZX-14: Paul wrote: | The ZX14 has a chain, the Concours a shaft... | well, yes - I would guess that the driveshaft holds up longer than one season of riding. Paul wrote: | And the Concours saddlebags/rack aren't that useful with a huge giant saddlebag bolted to the side of the motorcycle. | With two adults and camping gear on a cross country trip, that huge giant saddlebag fills up pretty quickly, and you still have to strap gear on the back of the bike seat. And the saddlebags might prove to be a bit more watertight than the trunk of my Bandito.
I will readily admit that my use of an HPS isn't necessarily reflective of the majority of the users on this forum. But how boring would life be if we all had the same preferences and all rode the same bike?
So let's thank those who have brought HPS to the US in recent years and celebrate the variety of bikes they have given us. _________________ David D

Oh, by the way, my wife likes the blue one, too. "It's just a prettier color." _________________ David D

The right hand saddlebag looks like the perfect place to mount an auxillary fuel tank.

This poll has been viewed over 130 times and only 7 people voted.
What's going on?
This is completely anonymous.
How about a little participation.

They are both nice looking rigs, but I vote for the ZX14. Nothing like wretched excess! _________________ I

I agree and voted for the ZX14 but would like to have both. The C14 feels great. _________________ CBR1100XX/EZS

ZX 14 for me, with the Concours ape-hanger bars, fairing and windscreen.
