Cool That is the first 4 cylinder 2 stroke I have seen 3 yes never 4 But what the hell do I know I just work at the car wash

looks like the one in my photo, wonder how many where made
Hope the frame is better than the ones they had on the KH's, think rubber bands had the same flexability

As for other 4 cyl 2-strokes, of course there were the Yamaha TZ750's. "Only" 750cc, though; not 1000 like this one, and only race machines, though I'd be surprised if some of them didn't make it into street use. _________________ David D

Yes, many of the TZ700/750 fours made it into street use.... the only problems were that (a) they were painfully loud, and that (b) they were bump start only.... so if you stalled at a red light things got interesting. Oh, and of course you stalled it a lot, since (being a race bike) they didn't idle at all, you had to keep them alive by blipping the throttle, and launching at 6K rpm or more....
There were also many Suzuki race two-stroke fours, plus a street-going version, the RG500. I don't think they made it into the USA but up in Canada, you could take one off the showroom floor, remove the lights and horn, and win the open-superbike class race... scary fast. |
