Well...
The pool is closed.
The mornings are dark and cold.
The days are getting shorter.
The kids are back in school.
Winter is on it's way.
What does all this mean?
Yes, but No.

Yes, briefly, then it snows for three months, then it rains for three months. _________________ Bill

Quit whining about summer being almost over and get some of this stuff:
http://www.gerbing.com/home/motorcycle.html
to make riding a year-round hobby. (at least it works in upstate New York)
Or, if you truly believe that riding is a summer-only pastime, you should be out there doing some (or a lot) of it for at least the next week, until fall actually gets here.
Or you could be like my friend who bought a new Harley Sportster back in '91 and already has almost 5k miles on it.
I'm just trying to live by that positive attitude saying at the top of the page. |

I live in Maine. I drive my rig all winter. I still say winter has more good riding days than summer.

Yes, and this is a Good Thing, but hopefully there's a lot of great riding between now and then, too.
Sidecar Willy, Arbalest - it sounds like you guys have the right attitude.
At my house, bikes - 2 or 3 wheel varieties - don't get "put away for the winter". I won't pretend that I ride my bikes every day all year round; when it's really cold, or the roads too sloppy, they stay in the garage. But they're always waiting to go out and play, year-round. And I get a strange sense of satisfaction having the only bike in the parking lot at work, months after the fair weather bikers have stopped riding for the season. |

The subject of my first set of tires did come up the other day.....Wifey suggested that I should consider winter tires in time for project completion...... I replied with cool! I could have two sets a summer & a winter set...... Are they still called a set when you buy three...Hmmmm? |
