Ben,
So far no complaints with the 16's. I went with the 50 series because that gave me pretty close to the same outside diameter as the 14's that were originally on the rig. I forget the numbers now but gearing was within a couple percent of what it was before, and lower than the stock 17 inchers.
The ride is a little stiffer than before, but how much is due to the low profile tires and how much is due to completely redesigned suspension, I don't know, when the weather gets a little better I'm going to play with the shocks some more.
