I see that Sauer has done at least a couple of Buell based HPS rigs. I have recently acquired a Buell in need of a little repair work and thought that while I'm at it I might as well put a sidecar on it. Anyone know of anyone in the U.S. that has done this. I'm particularly interested in what was done for a subframe and what they did on the front-end.

Thanks,
Al

Maybe someone here knows of one but I don't. Sure would be a fun project though Smile Do you want aleading link or a center hub front?

Center hub would be preferred incorporated into the subframe/sidecar frame. I don't have unlimited funds, so a Sauer rig is out. I'd probably end up with a leading link setup unless someone like Dave Hannigan would offer his Bandito set up for other tugs.

Al,
The center hub would be preferred for many reasons. It can be made to take all of the stresses involved while not relying on the Buell 'frame' and steering head to share supension loads etc.
I would be happy to tackle the project but with the present workload could not begin until May. Feel free to give me a call and we can discuss this and possibly other options.
Mike Braverman was working on a Sauer project with some friends. It was a V Rod if I remember right. It was the only Sauer I had heard of in this country. Maybe some of the members here know of others.
Anyhow...woudl be a great project. My number is (570) 837-5182
Oh...my front swingarm would not be a crooked as Sauer's is Smile
