Post Inspired by William Strong. Wink
The only project for my rig was a new steering damper.
Finished it this week. Big Grin

I have not experienced any wobble on my rig with out a damper.
The other Bill did some testing. With no one in the sidecar, could not get it to wobble at all.
With some one in the sidecar there was occasionally very mild wobble under the right conditions. IE speed, weight, road conditions, etc.
Just a precaution, added sense of security.
We all have to have a lot of faith in our rigs and in some cases our fabrication skills.
Really don’t want to get into a wobble running along the edge of a mountain or riding along side of a tractor trailer or SUV for that matter.
You know, better safe than sorry.

Did I need one? Probably not.
Did I want one? Yes, definitely.

Makes sense to me Bill. Any noticeable difference is steering effort?

Yes, the older I get the harder it gets. Laughing
I have about 1-3/4 inches of trail. It hard to steer when not moving. Not to bad when moving. The damper did add som resistance. Once I get back to Maggie Valley and get the adrenalin flowing, I won't even notice. Big Grin

Thta's why those northeners always have the fancy bikes, they get one month to ride and 11 months to build, where as we get to ride 11 months and my bikes are lucky just to get washed, waxed, and the oil changed Poke

Mike (who admits to driving the truck to work today, since it looks like rain.)
