1340cc - 170 rwhp, and about as stable as a grenade with the pin pulled Smile

1340cc's is basically an entry-level pro drag racing setup for the Bandit, and the motor's are basically at the tipping point of performance/reliability especially from the cooling standpoint.

My motor's seen 46,000 hard, abusive, km's in my hands.. and it is getting a wee bit tired, consuming a touch of oil. I imagine things won't be much improved with an additional 15,000 km's by next winter. I am planning on a complete engine overhaul for the winter of 2005/2006 (I plan project season one year ahead lol.) .. i'll likely be going either 1157 high comp. (stock bore) if my liners are still in spec, or if worn excessively, will be doing the full 1216 high comp route (2mm overbore).

Gotta take care of this seasons projects first, though Smile

You and me both, Claude .. I looked at the stripped down rig last night, and found myself contemplating how much effort it would take to rope down 100 lbs of barbell weights to the sidecar shock tower.. overlooking the obvious fact that it sits there, no front brake assembly, no instrument cluster, no fairing, no turnsignals or rearviews .. basically, no hope Smile

Getting a wee bit closer though - I sent the wheel/axle assembly into the machine shop today to get the brake caliper mounts welded to the wheel bearing spacers, along with the lower shock mount halves to be welded together. They also had my swinging arm axle ends ready, so i can now focus on building up the swinging arm to the correct dimensions, jig it all up, and get it welded up this week.
